Segway tour of Rimini attractions
- Meet at the meeting point
- Attend Segway training session
- Segway panoramic sightseeing tour
The Experience
You arrive at the meeting point and spend the first half-hour learning to balance and steer a Segway before the tour begins. Once you're steady, the guide leads the group through Rimini's most recognizable spots: the seafront promenade, the piazza named after filmmaker Federico Fellini, and the narrow streets of Borgo San Giuliano where fishermen's houses line the cobblestones. The route also passes the Tiberius Bridge, a Roman structure that still carries traffic, and Castel Sismondo, the fortress that once dominated the city's skyline.
The Segway does the work your legs would otherwise do, which means you see more ground in three hours than you would on foot and arrive back without fatigue. The guide fills the ride with stories about Rimini's history, from its days as a Roman trading post through its medieval power struggles to its modern life as a beach resort. Because the group stays small, the guide can answer questions and adjust the pace if someone needs a moment to get comfortable on the machine.
Rain doesn't stop the tour. Ponchos are provided and the route stays the same. Wear shoes with a closed toe and dress for the weather. The tour is suitable for anyone with basic balance and coordination, though it's not recommended for pregnant travelers. If there aren't enough bookings to meet the minimum group size, you'll be offered an alternative tour or a full refund.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese.
What's the difference between the open group tour and the private VIP tour?
The open group tour runs on a set schedule with other travelers, while the private VIP tour is just your group on your own time. Both include the same 3-hour route, training session and guide.
Do I need any experience to ride a Segway?
No. The 30-minute training session at the start covers everything: how to mount, balance, accelerate and brake. The guide won't move the group forward until everyone is confident.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The tour runs in all weather. Ponchos are provided if it rains, and you'll dress appropriately for wind or cold. The route and stops stay the same.
Which landmarks do we actually stop at, or do we just ride past them?
You ride past most of the major sites (the Tiberius Bridge, Castel Sismondo, Augustus Arch, the Tempio Malatestiano and the Roman amphitheatre), while the guide explains their history. The tour includes time at the lungomare beach promenade, Federico Fellini Square and Borgo San Giuliano where you can take in the surroundings.
Is there a minimum age, and can children do this?
The minimum age is 16 years old. Younger children cannot participate, even with an adult.
What should I wear, and what do I need to bring?
Wear closed-toe shoes and clothes suitable for the weather. Helmets are available (optional) and ponchos are provided if it rains. You don't need to bring anything else. The tour includes the Segway, helmet and any rain gear.
