Your driver picks you up from your hotel in a climate-controlled Mercedes V-Class minivan and heads toward Rifugio Sapienza, the base station at 2,000 meters on Mount Etna's slopes. The drive itself is part of the tour: your Sicilian driver shares the history and culture of the land as you climb. Once at Rifugio Sapienza, you take a light scenic walk around the Silvestri Craters, two volcanic formations that frame the panorama. If you want to go higher, the cable car up to 2,900 meters is available for an extra €80 per person and opens up views from the upper slopes, but the walk alone is the core of the day.

Next is Oro d'Etna, a local producer where you taste honey, olive oil, and other products made in the shadow of the volcano. You'll see the 1992 lava flow up close: a dramatic scar on the landscape that shaped the region. The stop includes time to browse and the option to ship products home if something catches your eye. Then the tour moves to a winery, where you taste Etna wines paired with cured meats, cheeses, and other local fare. You also walk through the vineyard itself. The winery may vary based on availability, but the wine and food tasting is fixed. Bottled water and WiFi are on board throughout, and the whole day runs five to six hours.
