The experience
You arrive at your Cesarina's home in Cava de' Tirreni and spend the next three hours learning to make two pasta dishes and tiramisu the way she does. She teaches you the family secrets (the tricks of the trade for each recipe), and you work through them hands-on in her kitchen. You wear an official Le Cesarine apron and handle the dough, the fillings, the layering yourself. This is not a demonstration you watch from the side.
Once the cooking is done, you sit down to taste what you've made, paired with local wines and coffee. The meal is either lunch or dinner depending on which option you book. The experience is designed for families with children of all ages, so if you're traveling with kids, they cook and eat alongside you.
Le Cesarine hosts are home cooks who open their own kitchens to travelers. They're not restaurant chefs or professional instructors. The class is private, so it's just you and your group with your host. English and Italian are both spoken.
