The experience

Three hours on foot through one of Sardinia's most significant archaeological parks takes you through the layers of Nora's past. The city began as a Phoenician settlement, became Carthaginian, and finally Roman, and the guide walks you through the public and private buildings where that history sits underfoot. You'll see the mosaics, the amphitheater, the temple of Tanit, the Roman aqueduct and the smaller structures that filled the daily life of the people who lived there.

The tour ends with time to walk down to the beach and through the village of Pula, a small coastal settlement that sits above the ruins. Transfer from Cagliari is included, so the day is built around the site itself rather than around logistics.

Is this one for you?Small groups work well here since the site is explored on foot and the guide can move at a steady pace. If you're traveling with children from age 6, the three-hour length and the mix of ruins and beach time at the end keeps the day manageable.
