The experience

Lake Ledro's vineyard sits high enough that the alpine soil and altitude shape what grows there. You'll taste the Solaris grape in two forms: the Crun, a sparkling wine that's fresh and bright, and the Massangla, a still wine with more structure and aroma. Both are grown with resistant, eco-friendly methods rather than heavy spraying. The walk through the vineyard takes you uphill about 20 minutes to see how the vines are planted and tended, then down into the cellar where the wine ages.

The tasting itself includes 4 wines and a grappa, each one paired with local delicacies: olive oil, house-made olive pâté, and other regional products. The guide walks you through the story of each wine as you taste, explaining what the altitude and soil bring to the flavor. The whole experience runs about 2 hours. If the weather turns, the tasting moves into the cellar, so the rain doesn't change what you taste, only where you stand.
