The experience

Lugana is a white wine unique to the region south of Lake Garda, and this tasting starts where it's made. After a welcome, you walk into the vineyards to see the Turbiana grapes and learn how the winery uses sustainable methods to grow them. The guide explains the philosophy behind the work (respect for the territory and attention to biodiversity), then takes you through the cellar to show how the must becomes wine, and why the local clay and the vines produce something you can't get anywhere else.

The tasting happens in a dedicated area where you sample two Lugana wines (one from a previous vintage to show how it ages) and a red Cabernet. Each wine comes with food: Brescian cheeses with homemade jam, salami from Brescia, bruschetta with Garda extra virgin olive oil, and garden vegetables in oil. You choose at checkout whether to taste three wines or five wines total.

The whole experience takes about 90 minutes. A live guide leads the tour in English or Italian. The winery is wheelchair accessible, all surfaces are accessible, and public transportation options are nearby if you're not driving.
