The experience
The route is planned to show you the lake from its most beautiful points without wasting time hunting for parking or a place to eat. Your DGtalguide app guides you to secret places (some nearly 300 meters above the water), and tells you what you're looking at as you ride. The tour covers both shores in seven to eight hours, crossing the lake by ferry between Limone sul Garda and Malcesine, a journey that gives you stunning photos of both towns from the water itself.
You ride a new Vespa or Over Brera scooter equipped with a top box and phone charger, with fuel and helmets included. The app takes you to Limone sul Garda, where the old limonaia greenhouses still stand: ancient structures where lemon trees once grew when the lake was one of the world's lemon centers. From there, the ferry departs to Malcesine, where you'll see the old castle and another limonaia before riding on. The Tremosine road, recognized as one of the world's most beautiful, is difficult to reach by car but opens up on a scooter: you can stop anywhere in the gorge to take photos, then eat at a reserved table with a discount at a restaurant there. Higher still, in the alpine meadows above the lake, you visit a cheese shop to taste and buy local dairy products at a discount. Malcesine itself, famous for its fortress and the photos that define Lake Garda, is the final stop.
Lunch at an authentic family-run trattoria is arranged in advance (a table is already booked for you), and costs roughly €15 to €25. The app handles all navigation and provides information throughout the day, so you ride at your own pace without a guide following. Ferry tickets come with a 20% passenger discount. The vehicle itself doesn't qualify for the discount.
