Step-by-step itinerary

Kayak tour exploring Amalfi Coast caves

  • Explore sea caves along Amalfi Coast
  • Visit Crapolla Fjord nature reserve
  • Stop at Crapolla beach for swim
  • Discover beautiful sea cave with green water

The experience

You arrive at the launch point and meet your FICK Federal Technical Instructor, who leads groups of no more than eleven. The kayak is a sit-on-top model chosen for stability and comfort. You get a paddle, lifejacket, and dry bag. No engines, no noise. Just the sound of your paddle and the coast. The guide navigates you past the crowds that fill the larger tour boats, taking a route only kayaks can follow into narrow sea caves and along limestone ravines.

The Crapolla Fjord is the centerpiece: a deep rift carved into limestone rock by a stream over centuries, not a glacial fjord. You'll stop for thirty minutes on the fjord's beach to swim together in complete safety. The narrow gorge holds a fishing village, a church and a Saracen tower: historical landmarks visible only from the water. Before you turn back, you paddle into a sea cave with a large entrance and plays of light across the water, bright green where it catches the sun.

The whole outing runs three hours. Bring your own water and snacks. The operator provides the kayak, paddle, lifejacket, dry bag and insurance. The guide speaks English or Italian.

The Crapolla Fjord is a narrow, deep rift in limestone rock carved by a stream, not a glacial formation.
