experience

What’s the experience like?

First thing I noticed—Florence feels different when you’re gliding through on an e-bike. No traffic jams, no sweaty climbs. Just a quiet whirr as we zipped past the Duomo and into those narrow ZTL lanes where cars can’t go. Our guide handed us helmets and showed us how to use the app with all the best routes loaded up. Honestly, it was simple—even for someone who’s not a tech person.

We made our way up to Fiesole early, before the midday sun got too strong. The breeze up there carries this mix of pine and espresso from a tiny café near the main square—locals chatting over cornetti, barely glancing at tourists. Settignano was next; it’s quieter than Florence center, with old stone houses and little workshops where you can peek in and see artisans at work. I stopped for a quick photo by a faded mural—nobody rushed me.

Santa Croce Square is always lively, but on an e-bike you can park off to the side and just watch life unfold: street musicians tuning up, kids chasing pigeons, that sort of thing. The ride up to Piazzale Michelangelo is smooth with pedal assist—no huffing or puffing—and when you get there? The view really does make you pause for a second. Our guide pointed out San Miniato al Monte just above us; we took a detour there and caught the bells ringing out across the rooftops. If you want to duck into small museums or check out handcraft shops along the way, it’s easy—just lock up your bike and wander in.
