The experience

You'll walk through the stalls with your Cesarina (a home cook and member of Le Cesarine, Italy's network of 600+ culinary hosts), and pick out the ingredients for the day's dishes. She'll point out what makes the local produce worth buying and how to spot quality. The market tour is not a sightseeing lap. It's a working trip where you're gathering what you'll cook.

Back at her home kitchen, you get your own workstation with utensils and everything measured out. The Cesarina teaches you three traditional recipes from the Trentino region, one at a time, and you make each one yourself, not watching a demo, but doing the work with her guidance. She reveals the tricks that make these dishes work: the timing, the technique, the small moves that change the result. You'll have time to ask questions and adjust as you go.

When the cooking is done, you sit down to taste everything you've made, paired with a selection of local wines, coffee and beverages. Lunch or dinner, whichever you chose at booking, becomes the meal you earned. The whole experience takes five hours and happens in a private home in Trento or the surrounding area. Your host will send you the address and directions after you book.
