The experience
Seven to eight hours takes you through the heart of central Puglia, starting from your hotel in Bari or Ostuni. The route follows back roads through the Valle d'Itria, a landscape of dry-stone walls, whitewashed farmhouses and olive trees that have stood for centuries. Your guide is a local who knows the region and speaks English, Spanish, Italian or French. You choose the language when you book.
The day moves through four main stops. Martina Franca's historical center sits on a hilltop overlooking the valley. The town is known for its Baroque architecture and narrow streets. Ostuni, the white city, rises from the coast and spreads inland, its cubic houses painted white and blue catching the light. Cisternino's old town sits in the surrounding countryside. Selva di Fasano is where the millennia-old olive trees dominate: gnarled trunks and dense canopies that have weathered centuries. You move between them in an air-conditioned vehicle, so the heat and distance don't wear you down over the full day.
Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, as are the National Park fees. The guide handles the route and the commentary. You follow at a pace that lets you absorb each place. Food and drinks are not part of the tour, though stops for snacks are available on request and at your own cost.

Live guide in English, Spanish, French and Italian.
What is Ostuni like when we arrive?
Ostuni is a coastal town whose old center climbs inland from the sea in a maze of whitewashed streets and cubic houses. The historical center is the main stop, where the guide walks you through the layout and history of the town.
How much walking is involved across the full day?
Each town stop involves walking through the historical center on foot, but the distances are manageable and the pace is set by the group. The vehicle handles the travel between locations, so you are not walking the countryside itself.

What are the Selva di Fasano olive groves like?

Is this tour suitable for someone with limited fitness?
The tour is suitable for all physical fitness levels. It is not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health, as the day involves walking through hilly towns and moving between multiple stops over seven to eight hours.
