The Experience

The day starts at Naples or Sorrento port, where your guide meets you and boards a fast ferry to Capri. Once on the island, you ride in an open-top taxi or minibus along the famous Mamma Mia Road, the winding coastal drive that cuts through the island's cliffs and opens onto the Tyrrhenian Sea. The route itself is the draw—steep drops, tight turns, and views that explain why the road became a film location.

At Capri, a boat takes you into the Blue Grotto, the sea cave where sunlight filters through the water and turns it electric blue (weather and sea conditions permitting). If the grotto is closed, the boat circles the island instead, passing the Faraglioni Rocks—three limestone stacks rising from the water—and exploring other smaller caves. Either way, the boat ride is included. After Capri, a second fast ferry carries you to Sorrento, where you have free time to walk the town and eat lunch at a restaurant of your choice, at your own cost. The guide does not accompany this part.

From Sorrento, your driver takes you along the coast road toward Pompeii, a route that descends through lemon groves and past the towns that cling to the cliffs. At Pompeii, you explore the archaeological site on foot—the streets, the houses, the forum, the theaters—all preserved by the ash and pumice that fell when Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD. The guide walks you through the site and explains what you are standing in. When the day ends, your driver returns you to Naples or Sorrento port.
