The experience
The boat leaves Piano di Sorrento in the morning and heads south along the Amalfi Coast toward Capri. Early stops include the remains of Pollio Felice's Roman villa at Regina Giovanna, which sits above a natural swimming pool, and a small waterfall cascading into the sea near Massa Lubrense where you can rinse off in fresh water. From there the route traces Capri's perimeter, passing the Faraglioni (three dramatic rock formations that rise from the water), and the lighthouse at Punta Carena. The villa of Curzio Malaparte appears on the cliffs above.
You stop several times to swim and snorkel. The boat carries snorkeling equipment, and between swims the crew serves homemade limoncello, soft drinks and water. The White, Green and Coral Grottoes are included in the route. The Blue Grotto is optional and costs extra per person. A sandwich lunch happens at a restaurant on the island, after which you have four hours to walk Capri town, shop or sit at a café on your own. The return journey to Sorrento happens at sunset.
The tour runs seven hours total. Your guide speaks one of four languages and travels with the boat throughout. Restrooms are on board. If you're interested in the Blue Grotto, confirm the extra fee when you book and ask whether the boat can fit it into the day's schedule.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish, French and Italian.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the difference between the White, Green and Coral Grottoes on this tour?
The three grottoes are sea caves around Capri's coastline, each named for the color of the water inside them created by the way light filters through the rock and reflects off the seabed. All three are included stops where the boat anchors and you can swim. They are natural formations, not man-made attractions.
Can I visit the Blue Grotto on this tour?
The Blue Grotto is not included in the standard tour price. It requires an additional fee per person and depends on sea conditions and boat space on the day you travel. Ask about it when you book if you want to add it.
How much free time do I get in Capri town itself?
After lunch at the restaurant, you have four hours to explore Capri on your own: enough time to walk the main streets, visit shops, sit at a waterfront café or hike to viewpoints above the harbor before the boat departs for Sorrento.
What swimming stops are included, and do I need my own snorkel gear?
The tour stops several times for swimming at the grottoes, near Regina Giovanna and at the waterfall. Snorkeling equipment is provided on the boat at no extra cost, so you don't need to bring your own.
When does the boat return to Sorrento?
The tour returns to Piano di Sorrento at sunset, which means you leave Capri in late afternoon and arrive back as the light fades. The full tour lasts seven hours from departure.
