The experience
The activity runs as a guided group descent through wild gorges crossed by small streams. You'll move on foot with 3 to 15 other canyoners, following one or more guides who supervise every stage. The terrain demands jumps, dives and rope abseils, so the guides choose the route and manage the technical parts. Groups stay small enough that the guide watches each person. The places themselves are absolutely wild, which is why the supervision matters.
Garfagnana's gorges are otherwise unreachable. You get to them by descending through them. The neoprene wetsuit keeps you warm in the water. The harness and helmet handle the rope work and the jumps. Bring only enthusiasm and shoes suitable for adventure. Everything else the staff provides. The activity suits anyone with a moderate level of physical fitness, and children join from age 10 onward. Guides speak English, Spanish or Italian, so you can book in the language you need.

Is this one for you?You do the canyoning yourself (jumping, diving and abseiling under your guide's supervision), so this suits anyone who wants to move through the terrain actively rather than watch it from a distance. The group size of 4 to 16 means the guide can watch each person while keeping the experience social, which works well for solo travelers and small groups alike.
