The experience
The boat leaves Palinuro's port heading south toward Marina di Camerota, where the Cilento coastline opens into a sequence of coves and caves. You pass the Blue Grotto of Marina di Camerota and Cala del Monte di Luna before reaching the Grotto of the Cathedral, a cave whose entrance resembles a church doorway and holds long white stalactites inside. The route then traces past Cala Fortuna and continues toward the heart of the excursion.
Two swimming stops anchor the day: Cala Bianca, a white-pebble beach elected several times one of Italy's most beautiful, and the Bay of Frescoes itself, a symbol of unspoilt nature where the tour ends. Between them, the boat passes close to the cliff where the Santa Caterina spring flows fresh water into the emerald sea. The Grotto of Frescoes, located within the bay, marks the final stop.
A skipper in Italian guides the route. Bottled water is provided throughout. The tour runs about four hours and suits families, couples and groups.
