The experience

Alberobello's trulli are rural buildings made from local stone using a dry-stone technique that dates back to prehistoric times and is still used in the region today. The guide leads you through two distinct areas: Rione Monti, the monumental quarter where you'll find the Siamese trullo and the church of Sant'Antonio (the only church in Alberobello shaped like a trullo itself), and then Rione Aia Piccola, the historic heart where the oldest trulli stand and where the city's rebirth took shape after Ferdinand IV, king of Naples, granted it official recognition.

The walk takes in the two lookout points and the house of the Count of Conversano, the place where everything began for this UNESCO heritage site, which has been protected since 1996. The guide shares the secrets of the TRULLARE (the master builders who shaped these structures), and the local traditions woven into the streets and stone. Snacks are included. If you want to go deeper, you can add a tasting of taralli, local cheeses, spirits and wine held inside an 18th-century trullo.
