The experience

Five wines arrive paired with a rich aperitif: bruschetta with SAIO extra virgin olive oil, handmade cheese, local cured meats and torta al testo, the Umbrian flatbread. A guide walks you through each wine and the traditions behind them, grounding the tasting in the region's history and how the land shapes what grows there. Bottled water comes with the tasting.

After the tasting, you move into the vineyards themselves. The walk is self-guided, following a route that takes you through the most panoramic section of the vineyard. Saint Francis church sits 800 meters away across the valley, framed against the whole city of Assisi, with Santa Maria degli Angeli and Perugia visible in the distance. The route teaches you about viticulture and wine as you go, so you're learning the landscape as you walk it.
