The experience
The tour starts with pickup from your Tel Aviv hotel at 7:20 am and a drive toward Jerusalem. On the way you'll pass Latrun, a strategic hilltop overlooking the road between the two cities. Once in Jerusalem, the guide begins at a panorama of the Old City, pointing out the New Gate, Damascus Gate and Flowers Gate before moving to stops at the Lions Gate and Golden Gate, each with its own history tied to the city's past.
Mount Zion sits just outside the Old City walls and holds two major stops: the Room of the Last Supper and the Tomb of King David, along with the synagogue of David and the Nabi-Daud Mosque. From there the route moves to the Jaffa Gate, where you'll see the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Cardo (a Roman road), and the five final stops of Christ's path. A lunch break comes around 12:45 pm. Food is not included, though you can arrange a meal for an additional fee.
After lunch the tour continues to the Via Dolorosa, the route Jesus is said to have walked to his crucifixion, then to the Western Wall, the remains of the Second Temple and a place of prayer sacred to Jewish tradition. The Dung Gate, one of the seven open gates, marks the final major stop. The return to Tel Aviv begins around 3:30 pm.

Is this one for you?Choose the small group option if you prefer fewer people and a more intimate pace through the gates and sacred sites. The big group tour keeps costs lower and moves through the same sites on the same schedule. Both depart from Tel Aviv at 7:20 am, so pick based on group size preference and whether you want to start from your hotel or meet in Jerusalem.
