Two dives in a single day: the century-old warship and the living coral wall

A full-day scuba diving activity in Tulamben, Bali, where you make two dives—one in the coral garden and one on the USAT Liberty, a warship stranded nearly 100 years ago—with a PADI-certified local instructor, all equipment, lunch, and hotel pickup included. Beginners can join; the instructor works with a maximum of two divers at a time. The dive centre provides shower, restaurant and locker facilities before and after.

The Experience

You arrive at the dive centre in Tulamben and spend the first part of the morning in the pool, learning or refreshing the basics with your PADI instructor if you're new to diving. Once you're ready, a porter helps load the gear and a shuttle takes you to the water's edge. The first dive goes into the coral garden, where the reef holds hundreds of fish species and dense marine plants—you're underwater for the time it takes to move through the site at a comfortable pace, then back to the centre for lunch and a rest.

The second dive heads to the USAT Liberty, a military transport ship that ran aground nearly a century ago and has become a reef in its own right. The wreck sits in shallow enough water that you can explore the structure itself—the hull, the deck, the openings where fish now live—and the marine life around it. Your instructor stays with you throughout, and the group never exceeds two divers, so the attention is constant. By the end of the day you've logged six hours on site, including the pool time, the dives, the lunch break and the facilities at the centre.

The dive centre provides everything: SCUBA equipment, a wetsuit if you need one, the shuttle to and from the water, entrance fees, local taxes, lunch and a drink. Your instructor speaks English, Malay or Japanese. Hotel pickup is included, so you don't arrange transport yourself. Diving insurance is part of the package.
