The experience
Nusa Lembongan's snorkeling sites sit on the southeast coast of the island, reachable by speedboat from Sanur Harbor in about 30 minutes. The day starts with hotel pickup from central Bali (Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Sanur or Denpasar), then a fast boat carries your group across to Jungut Batu port on Lembongan. From there, the boat moves between three snorkel zones: Manta Bay, known for manta rays and clear water in a protected marine park; Crystal Bay, where pelagic fish, sharks, stingrays and turtles move through shallow rocky areas; and a third site in the mangrove zone. The water clarity and marine life density shift with the season and the day, so what you encounter changes each trip.
Between snorkel stops, you'll spend 30 minutes in the Mangrove Forest by traditional kayak, paddling past the spectacular root systems that line the water. Lunch is a traditional Indonesian meal served during the day. All snorkel gear (masks, snorkels, fins, life vests and life rings) is provided, and a guide stays with the group throughout. The boat returns to Sanur by late afternoon, and your driver brings you back to your hotel. The whole day runs five to six hours from pickup to drop-off.
Non-swimmers can join with the same equipment and guide instruction. The life vest and guide support make it accessible for anyone comfortable in the water. You'll want to bring a camera, sunscreen, a change of clothes and comfortable shoes for the boat and beach time. Cash or card covers any personal expenses. If you're staying outside the free pickup zone (Ubud, Tegalalang, Canggu, Uluwatu and other areas), an additional charge applies and is collected on the day of the tour.

Is this one for you?Choose the hotel pickup option if you're staying in central Bali and want to avoid arranging your own transport to Sanur. Meet at the port if you're already on the island or staying outside the free pickup zone and prefer to handle your own arrival. The group size and boat schedule mean you'll spend the full five to six hours in the water and traveling between sites, so plan the day when you're not rushed to get elsewhere.
