- Visit Kawah Putih volcanic crater lake
- Explore Rancabali Tea Plantation
- Have meal at Glamping Lakeside restaurant
- Play with deer at Rancaupas Deer Conservation Center
The experience
Kawah Putih sits about 50 kilometers south of Bandung as one of two craters that form Mount Patuha, a twin stratovolcano. The lake's water shifts between milky white and pale green depending on the light and mineral content, and the rim walk gives you views across the crater and down to the water. The tour runs eight to ten hours and includes private transportation with an English-speaking driver, toll and parking fees, and mineral water throughout the day.
Between the crater and the city, the route passes through Rancabali Tea Plantation, where the hillsides open into rows of tea plants that slope down the mountainside. You stop to walk through the plantation and take in the scale of it. Glamping Lakeside, a resort known for its cool, clean air at elevation, breaks up the day and gives you a place to rest and eat. Meals there are at your own expense. The final stop is Rancaupas Deer Conservation Center, where you can get close to the deer and interact with them before heading back to Bandung.
Pickup is included in the base rate from central Bandung (Alun-alun Bandung). If you're staying more than ten kilometers away (in Padalarang, Tegaluar Station, or another outlying area), a surcharge applies. A tour guide in English is available as an add-on at checkout. Entrance tickets to Kawah Putih and meals are separate from the tour price.
