You’ll follow a local through Mumbai’s bustling streets—riding the train, tasting classic street foods like pani puri and pav bhaji at Girgaum Chowpatty, wandering Bhuleshwar Market’s lively lanes, sampling spicy dishes near Minara Masjid and Mohammed Ali Road, and ending with legendary hand-churned ice cream. Expect laughter, new flavors, and moments that linger long after you’re full.
Your day includes all street food tastings—both vegetarian and non-vegetarian—bottled water to keep you going between bites, plus transportation via local train or taxi as needed during the tour. You’ll finish off with a scoop of legendary hand-churned fruit ice cream before heading home full (and probably smiling).

The metal handles were cool in my hand and the air smelled like rain on concrete (monsoon season, so yeah, everything felt damp). A little kid next to me offered a shy smile when I almost toppled over at a sudden stop. I laughed and he just grinned wider.
First stop was Girgaum Chowpatty. The beach wasn’t exactly quiet—families everywhere, vendors calling out for bhel puri or pav bhaji. Our guide handed me a plate of pani puri and showed me how to eat it without making a mess (I failed spectacularly; she just laughed). The tangy water hit harder than I expected. There was something about the mix of sea breeze and frying onions that made me hungry all over again.
Bhuleshwar Market came next—a blur of saris, bangles, spices piled high in sacks. I tried to keep up as our guide pointed out which stalls had the best deals (she knew half the vendors by name). The air was thick with incense and something sweet I couldn’t place. At one point we stopped for chai—tiny glasses, hot enough to burn my tongue if I wasn’t careful. People moved fast here but somehow nobody seemed rushed.
Mohammed Ali Road was chaos in the best way: sizzling baida roti on griddles, naan chaap stacked high, chicken 65 with enough chili to make my eyes water. Our guide ordered for us—said it’s easier that way—and we ate standing up while traffic crawled past. She told us stories about Ramadan feasts here; you could almost hear echoes of it even though it wasn’t festival time. We finished at Taj Ice Cream—a tiny shop where they still churn fruit ice cream by hand. Mine tasted like real mangoes and cold metal spoons. I still think about that first bite sometimes.
