The experience
The tour starts at your hotel and moves through Jaipur's craft workshops in a private tuk-tuk or car. Your first stop is a block-printing atelier where you watch artisans carve intricate designs onto wooden blocks, then press them onto fabric to build up patterns and color. The work is slow and precise. Each block placement matters. From there you head to Channi Carpets & Textiles, one of Jaipur's oldest showrooms, where the inventory spans hand-knotted rugs in wool and silk, pashmina items, block-printed home furnishings, and custom tailoring. The scale of what's on hand, the depth of the collection, makes it easy to spend time here.
The next two stops are Ratnavali Arts, a factory outlet for precious and semi-precious stone jewelry in silver and gold, and Akee International, which specializes in cashmere, silk, yak and wool shawls, stoles and fabrics. Both are working manufacturers, not retail-only spaces, so you're seeing pieces made on-site. The tour closes at a blue pottery workshop where artisans work with the distinctive cobalt blue dye that gives the craft its name. The pottery comes from Central Asian roots and remains a signature Jaipur art form. Throughout the day you'll have chances to ask questions and watch the artisans at work, though the focus is on the crafts themselves rather than a guided narrative.
Transport is included in your booking. You choose between a tuk-tuk for one or two passengers, a sedan for up to three, or an SUV for four to six. Bottled water is provided. Food and drinks beyond that are on your own, and the tour does not cover personal expenses. Hotel pickup and drop-off are part of the package, so you don't arrange separate transport to the first stop.
What’s included

Top questions
What exactly is block printing and how do the artisans do it?
Block printing is a traditional fabric-dyeing technique where artisans carve intricate designs into wooden blocks, then press them onto cloth to transfer the pattern. On this tour you watch the carvers work through the design process and see the blocks pressed onto fabric, building up layers of color and detail by hand.
Can I buy things at each workshop, or is this just a look-and-learn tour?
Each stop is a working factory or showroom where you can browse and purchase. Channi Carpets & Textiles, Ratnavali Arts, and Akee International all sell their pieces directly, and they offer home delivery options. The blue pottery workshop at the end also displays finished work available for sale.
What is blue pottery and why is it called that?
Blue pottery is a traditional Jaipur craft with roots in Central Asia, known for its use of cobalt blue dye that creates distinctive, intricate designs on the pieces. The name comes directly from the vibrant blue color that defines the work, and the technique remains a signature part of Jaipur's cultural heritage.
How long does the tour take and what time does it start?
The tour runs five hours total. Your hotel pickup time will be confirmed when you book, and you'll be dropped back at your hotel at the end of the route through all five stops.
Do I need to speak Hindi or does the guide speak English?
Your guide speaks English throughout the tour, so language is not a barrier to understanding the crafts and asking questions at each workshop.
