The Yamuna Expressway is supposed to be the fastest route out of Delhi, and at 2:30 in the morning — if you choose the sunrise option — you'll understand why people book it. Your driver picks you up from your hotel, airport, or railway station in the dark, and for the next three and a half hours, the road is mostly yours. Mineral water sits in the cup holder. The air conditioning works. You're not negotiating with a taxi driver or figuring out which train goes where. By the time the sun starts to move, you're in Agra, and your guide is waiting with your Taj Mahal tickets already in hand.

The skip-the-line part matters more than it sounds. You walk straight past the queues that form before nine in the morning, and your guide starts talking about Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal while other groups are still buying tickets.
