The experience

You get picked up from your hotel, airport or train station at your preferred time and travel in a private air-conditioned car with a driver and live guide for the entire day. The tour splits into two halves (Old Delhi and New Delhi), so you can book half a day if your schedule is tight, or combine both for a full experience. A morning start (around 9am) covers the most ground. Later pickups mean fewer stops. The guide speaks your language and travels with you the whole way, so questions and pace adjustments happen as you go.

New Delhi's stops include Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world's tallest brick minaret; Humayun's Tomb, a Mughal masterpiece with Persian-inspired gardens that inspired the Taj Mahal; Lotus Temple, a lotus-shaped Bahá'í House of Worship; India Gate, a war memorial with eternal flames; and passes by Parliament House and the Presidential Palace. Old Delhi takes you through Jama Masjid, one of India's largest mosques; a rickshaw ride through the crowded streets of Chandni Chowk market; Khari Baoli, Asia's largest spice market; Gurudwara Sis Ganj, a historic Sikh temple; and a pass by the Red Fort. If Lotus Temple is closed on Monday, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib replaces it.

Entrance fees to the monuments are included only if you book the "with tickets" option. The other options cover the car, driver and guide but not monument entry. Bottled water, the rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, camera fees and all taxes are included. Bring a valid photo ID for monument security checks. The tour is private to your group only, and you can request customizations after booking if certain sites matter more to you than others.
