The experience

The day starts with pickup from your hotel, then moves to the water taxi that takes you into the mangroves. You'll snorkel around the tunnel itself (a narrow passage carved through the mangroves that pirates once used as a hiding spot), and explore the crystalline water on the east side of Roatan. The guide navigates the route and points out the local ecosystem as you move through the water.

After the mangroves, the tour stops at Isery Private Boat for group photos, then heads to Hole in the Wall, one of the oldest restaurants on the east side. The restaurant sits on the water and serves island dishes and tropical drinks. Meals and drinks are available for an extra fee. The whole experience runs four to five hours, mixing snorkeling with the slower pace of village sightseeing and a meal stop.
