The experience
You start at the Panajachel office and ride toward Santa Catarina Palopó, a village built into the lakeside with narrow painted streets and local weavers selling blankets and handcrafted nahuales. The ride itself is the point. You control the UTV on the route the guide leads, not sitting as a passenger while someone else drives. The village stop gives you time to walk through the artisan market and see how the textiles are made.
From there the route continues to San Antonio Palopó, where the tour includes a stop at a traditional ceramic factory. Local artisans show you how raw clay becomes the painted pottery sold throughout the region, and you can watch the process or ask questions about the craft. The chocolate workshop follows: a local maker walks you through the steps from cacao bean to finished chocolate, with samples to taste. A viewpoint in Godinez caps the morning with views across the lake toward the volcanoes.
The guide speaks English or Spanish and stays with the group throughout. Entrance fees to the villages and workshops are already included in the price, so there are no surprise costs at each stop. The terrain is accessible for all fitness levels, and children from age 4 can ride along.
