The experience

You don't need to be a swimmer or have any diving experience to get underwater in Apra Harbor. The instructors brief you on the gear before you enter the water (they provide the BC, regulator, weights, mask, snorkel, boots and fins), and then guide you through the dive itself. Your first dive stays at around 20 feet deep for about 25 minutes, with the full in-water time including the briefing running roughly 45 minutes. Groups stay at four people per guide, which means you get a clear view of the reefs instead of getting lost in a crowd.

The reefs here are thick with tropical fish and green sea turtles are a common sight. You choose at checkout whether you want one dive or two, and if you want underwater photos the operator can arrange those for an extra charge. Complimentary drinking water, showers and changing rooms are on site at the beach shop location. If you need a ride, hotel pickup is included on the 8am departures. For other times, contact the operator about transportation options, since taxi fares in Guam run high.
