The Experience
The tour opens at the House of Chocolate Museum, where you taste local chocolate and learn how it's made on the island. From there you move to Clarkes Court Distillery on the south side, where the factory has run since 1937. A 15–20 minute walk through the operation shows you the stages from sugar cane and molasses through to aging, blending and bottling; afterward you sample their award-winning rums at the bar and get recipes for mixing them. The distillery also keeps old steam engines dating back to 1886.
At the Spice Gardens, you walk trails paved with nutmeg shells and move through herbs and spices that Grenada exports worldwide—the scent alone marks why the island earned the name "isle of spice." The half-day ends here. On the full-day option, you continue into the mountains to Annandale Falls, where water cascades over rocks and tropical flowers surround the pools, then climb to Grand Etang National Park. The crater lake sits 1,800 feet above sea level, one of only two on the island. A guide walks you through the rainforest to the water's edge, where you can feed the fish and look across to Mount Qua Qua.
Transport is air-conditioned and pickup comes from your location. The tour runs 5 to 6 hours depending on which option you choose. Service animals are welcome, and the pace suits all fitness levels.
