The experience

The day opens with pickup from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle and a stop in Bochali village for panoramic views across Zakynthos Town and the Ionian Sea. From there you reach the Navagio Viewpoint, the cliffside vantage over Shipwreck Beach that appears in countless photographs. Your guide helps you frame shots here, and if weather allows, captures drone footage from above.

The speedboat departs from Porto Vromi and runs the length of Zakynthos' western coastline. You'll enter the Blue Caves, sea caves carved into limestone cliffs, and swim in the turquoise water at multiple stops: Shipwreck Beach itself, the Maravelia double cave, and White Beach. The limestone walls and the shades of blue shift as you move along the coast. Swimming vests are provided. After the boat returns, lunch happens at a family-run taverna with home-cooked dishes, fresh vegetables, and homemade wine. The guide joins in if Greek music and dancing start.

The afternoon turns inland. You pass through mountain villages, stop to see a 2,000-year-old olive tree (one of the oldest on the island), and taste local olive oil and other Zakynthian products. A photo stop overlooks Makris Gialos Beach, and the tour ends at Xigia Beach, where the water is naturally rich in sulfur and collagen. You can swim there before heading back to your accommodation.

Is this one for you?Eight hours includes the full route (land stops, the speedboat, lunch, and inland villages), so you'll need the whole day free. If you have only a half-day or want to explore other parts of Zakynthos separately, this tour is not the fit. If you want the island's most famous sights and the sea caves in one outing, the length is what makes it possible.
