The experience
What does Kavala look like from the water? The answer unfolds as you leave the port on a private yacht, watching the city's ancient fortifications and colorful hillside houses rise against the backdrop of the castle. You'll pass the wooden fishing-boat shipyard at Karnagio, the Broken Bridge and the Kamares Aqueduct: each one a marker in the city's centuries-long relationship with its natural harbor. A glass of local wine or ouzo and meze on deck sets the rhythm for the morning, and the guide walks you through the landmarks as they appear: the Panagia peninsula where local teenagers dive, the Kavala Lighthouse, the Panagia Church and the house of Mohamed Ali.
The route continues west to Kalamitsa Beach, Kavala's largest urban beach, and then anchors at Batis Beach if conditions allow. Here the pace shifts: snorkeling masks, fins and a SUP are on board at no extra cost, and you can swim in the clear water or simply float and watch the shoreline. The dip is brief and optional (it depends on whether the sea has stayed warm enough), so the day never feels rushed.
The tour runs two hours and can be extended by the hour to explore the Gulf of Kavala or try fishing (trolling, rod, line, sabiki or spearfishing) for an additional €90 per hour. A live guide speaks English throughout, and pickup is included in the booking.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24h before the start.
What is the Aqueduct in Kavala that we'll see from the boat?
The Kamares Aqueduct is an Ottoman-era structure that carried water into the city and stands as one of Kavala's most recognizable landmarks from the water. You'll pass it during the westward sail along the harbor.
Can we swim during the tour, or is it just sightseeing from the boat?
Swimming is included if the water temperature is warm enough. The boat anchors at Batis Beach for a refreshing dip, and snorkeling masks, fins and a SUP are provided at no extra cost. The stop is brief and entirely optional.
How many people can fit on the yacht?
The tour is private, so it accommodates your group. Infants must sit on an adult's lap, and the boat is suitable for all fitness levels.
What happens if we want to fish instead of just sail and swim?
Fishing activities (trolling, rod, line, sabiki or spearfishing) can be added to the itinerary for €90 per additional hour beyond the standard two-hour tour.
