The Experience

Ever wondered what the Aegean really smells like up close? I didn’t, until we left Skiathos port around 10:15 on this big white Hanse yacht—seriously, it’s almost absurdly sleek. The sea was that blue you only see in Greek postcards, but real. Our guide (I think his name was Nikos?) handed out coffee and grinned at my clumsy sunscreen job.
