The Experience

The tour begins at Maou vineyard and moves onto quiet rural roads where the guide explains local architecture and traditions as you ride. The route has only a few hills and stays easy enough for anyone with moderate fitness. You'll reach Fokos beach—a quiet stretch where the Aegean is clear enough to swim if the weather holds—and that's where the picnic happens. The guide sets everything up: a tablecloth, lanterns, a cooler with house wine (white, rosé or red from Mykonos Vioma farm), and snacks of cheese, olives, ham, bread sticks, nuts, a traditional dessert and popcorn. Then the guide leaves you alone for an hour to sit together without interruption.

The ride back happens after dark, with the roads empty and calm. You'll have lights on the bikes and a blanket if the evening turns cold. The whole experience—the cycling, the wine, the cultural details, the beach setting, the quiet night air on the way home—is built around the idea that this is a romantic escape, not a sightseeing tour. The starting time shifts depending on when the sun sets, and you'll get an email with the exact meeting time. Note that while the tour runs around sunset, you won't watch the sunset from the beach itself; the picnic happens after dark.

Mountain bikes and e-bikes come with helmets and bandanas. E-bikes cost extra. Bottled water is included. The minimum is two people for the tour to run, and you need to be at least 18 years old. A live guide speaks English, French or Greek.
