Explore Naxos village and heritage sites
- Visit Kouros of Flerio in Melanes

- Visit Panagia Drosiani monastery
- Tour Olive Press Museum and tasting
- Visit Vallindras Distillery in Chalki
- Walk through Chalki village alleys

The experience
The tour opens at the Kouros of Flerio in Melanes village, a marble sculpture nearly 6 meters tall with one leg broken: archaeological evidence places it around 570 B.C. From there the route passes through Kinidaros village, where marble quarries line the mountainside, before reaching Panagia Drosiani, a monastery south of Moni whose interior frescoes are said to be the oldest in the Balkans.
The middle section centers on two tastings. At the Kaloxylos Olive Press Museum, you walk through the operation and taste the oil. Later in Halki village, the Vallindra Distillery offers a second tasting before a walk through the village's narrow streets. The tour concludes at the pottery workshop of Manolis Libertas in Damalas, where you get an introduction to traditional ceramic techniques and the craft's place in island life.
An English-speaking guide drives a private, air-conditioned vehicle throughout. Bottled water and WiFi are on board. Hotel pickup is included, so there's no need to arrange transport from where you're staying.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
How old is the Kouros sculpture we'll see in Melanes?
The Kouros of Flerio dates to around 570 B.C. and stands nearly 6 meters tall, making it one of the most impressive ancient marble sculptures on Naxos. One leg is broken, but the height and craftsmanship remain striking.
What exactly happens at the olive press and distillery stops?
At the Kaloxylos Olive Press Museum, you tour the facility and taste the oil. At the Vallindra Distillery in Halki, you taste their product and then walk through the village's alleys.
Will I learn how to make pottery, or just watch?
The pottery workshop offers an introduction to traditional ceramic techniques and insight into the craft's role in island heritage. The source describes it as an introduction rather than a hands-on class.
What's included in the price, and what do I need to arrange myself?
Private transportation, bottled water, WiFi on board, all fees and taxes, and an air-conditioned vehicle are included. Hotel pickup is part of the service, so you don't arrange transport separately.
