Artemis Hamam and Spa is a traditional hamam treatment on Kos Island in Tigaki village, where you move through sauna, shock shower, full-body scrub and foam massage in sequence over 90 minutes. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included in one option; the facility has been operating since 2012 with professionally licensed staff and eco-friendly cleaning protocols. Children from age 7 are welcome; bathing suit required.
The Experience
You arrive at Artemis Hamam and Spa in Tigaki village, about 10 km from Kos town, either by your own transport or by hotel pickup depending on which option you choose. The facility sits on 2,000 square meters and holds multiple hamams, massage rooms, saunas and a vitamin bar. At reception you collect a locker key, fresh towels, a traditional peshtemal (loincloth) and slippers—all included—and change into your bathing suit.
The hamam sequence itself takes around 50 minutes. You start in the sauna to warm your body, move to a shock shower, then lie on the heated marble platform while a masseuse performs the full-body scrub—the exfoliation that removes dead skin and leaves your skin glowing and soft. The foam massage follows, a rhythmic treatment that completes the traditional cycle. Staff speak English and the establishment employs around 20 qualified masseuses and masseurs, all professionally licensed. The whole experience, including time to shower and dress, runs to 90 minutes.
Tigaki is also known for one of Kos's best beaches, so if you book the morning or early afternoon slot, you can walk to the sand afterward without rushing back to town. The facility cleans all units several times daily with eco-friendly products only. Bring a bathing suit; stay hydrated before you arrive; and let staff know of any medical conditions when you check in.
