Step-by-step itinerary
Tour Kefalonia's Beaches and Villages
- Visit Myrtos Beach
- Swim in Ionian Sea
- Explore Assos Village
- Have coffee by the sea
- Stroll Fiscardo waterfront
The experience
The tour starts at Myrtos Beach, where the white pebbles and turquoise water are the main event. You get time to swim in the Ionian Sea or lie on the shore. Sun beds and umbrellas rent for 10 euros if you want them. The cliffs rise steeply behind the beach, and the water stays clear enough to see the bottom near the shore. This is the stop where most people spend the longest stretch of the day.
From there, the guide takes you to Assos Village, a fishing village built into a hillside with pastel Venetian houses and narrow flower-lined streets. You stop for a coffee break at a seaside café overlooking the water. This is where the pace slows down and you get a feel for how the island actually works, away from the main roads. The village is small enough to walk through in the time you have, and the architecture is the draw rather than any single landmark.
The tour ends in Fiscardo, the largest of the three stops, where the harbor holds yachts and fishing boats and the waterfront is lined with shops and cafés. You walk the promenade and see the Venetian buildings up close. This is where the tour leaves you with time to explore on your own before heading back. The whole day runs seven hours from pickup to return, and the guide speaks English throughout. Food and drinks are your own cost.
