Parnassus, and visit the Byzantine architecture of Osios Loukas before returning to Athens.

The experience
Delphi was where the ancient Greeks consulted the oracle Pythia, whose predictions shaped decisions across the ancient world. The site holds the temple ruins and a museum collection that piece together what made this location so central to Greek life. You spend the morning and early afternoon exploring the sanctuary and the artifacts, with a guide who can explain what you're standing in front of and why the Greeks traveled here to ask their questions.
On the way back toward Athens, you stop in Arachova, a small town built into the side of Mt. Parnassus with views down the valley. This is where lunch happens: the town's traditional architecture and position make it a natural pause before the final leg. Then comes Osios Loukas, a Byzantine monastery a short distance down the road, where the architecture and setting offer a quieter contrast to the ancient ruins you saw earlier in the day.
The tour runs nine hours total and includes an air-conditioned vehicle for the whole route, bottled water, and a private guide in English. Pickup from your Athens hotel is part of the booking. If you choose the all-inclusive option at checkout, lunch and entry tickets to both Delphi and Osios Loukas are covered. Otherwise, you arrange meals separately and pay for entry on arrival.
