Beginner Scuba Diving in Pserimos from Kos: Small Groups

Learn to dive in a sheltered bay and surface with your first underwater memory

A half-day scuba diving class from Kos to Pserimos Island for beginners, with certified PADI instructors, small groups of 4–5 divers, and all equipment included. The boat departs at 09:00 and returns at 14:30. Divers descend to a maximum depth of 5 meters in a calm, sheltered bay with excellent visibility. A second dive is available after the first, or you can snorkel and relax on deck. No previous experience is required. Children from age 12 are welcome.

The experience

The boat leaves Kos at 09:00 and carries you to Pserimos Island, where a family-run operation runs small groups of 4–5 divers with two certified PADI instructors per group. Before entering the water, you receive a full safety and equipment briefing covering breathing techniques, diving procedures and the essentials for beginners. Everything is provided (wetsuit, tank, regulator, mask and fins), so you arrive with nothing but curiosity.

Your first dive lasts around 20–25 minutes in a shallow, sheltered bay where the water reaches a maximum depth of 5 meters and visibility is excellent. The instructors guide you step by step, staying close throughout. After surfacing, the boat remains anchored in an uncrowded spot where you can swim, snorkel or rest on the sun deck. If you want to dive again, a second dive is available. If you prefer to stay on board, that's fine too. The boat returns to Kos at 14:30.

The half-day format means you're back in town by early afternoon, leaving the rest of your day free. Moderate fitness is required, and the trip may be rescheduled if winds or sea conditions are unsafe. The operator will contact you in advance with alternatives or a full refund. A minimum of six divers is needed for the trip to run.
