The experience

The day starts with a scenic drive through Athens to Marina Zea in Piraeus, where you board a wooden sailing boat and meet the crew over welcome drinks: fresh juice, Greek coffee, and traditional pastries. From there, the boat handles the navigation while you settle onto the sun deck for a 2.5-hour sail across the Saronic Gulf toward Agistri, passing the Athens Riviera, Salamina island, and the Lagouses islets along the way. Agistri is your first island stop, and you get 1.5 hours there. Most people swim in the clear water or sunbathe on the beach, but the charming village of Skala is walkable if you want to explore on foot. An optional bike tour is available for an extra fee: a way to pedal through pine-scented paths and traditional villages if you'd rather move than float. After Agistri, the boat sails for 20–30 minutes to Moni (or Metopi, depending on sea conditions), a smaller, untouched islet where the water is even clearer. This is where lunch happens: the crew serves a freshly prepared Greek buffet on board while you swim, snorkel, or drift in the Aegean sun. Wine, beer, and soft drinks flow throughout.

Aegina, your third stop, is where history enters the day. The guide shares stories about the island's ancient temples and myths during the 20-minute sail over, and once you arrive, you have 1.5 hours to wander. If you want deeper history, the crew can arrange a local taxi to the Temple of Aphaia or the Monastery of Agios Nektarios: both require a separate arrangement but are within reach.
