The experience

The Accra Selfie Studio is where the day begins, and the operator picks you up from your hotel and brings you back when it's over. Once there, you dress in Kente cloth (the hand-woven fabric that carries centuries of Ghanaian tradition), and stand for a professional photoshoot. You'll receive five expertly edited photos and twenty unedited images to take home, so the moment stays with you beyond the day.

A naming ceremony follows, one designed to honor how Ghanaian families mark belonging and identity. You choose a name and receive a certificate to commemorate it, a keepsake that turns the ritual into something you can hold. Then comes the tasting menu: fufu with light soup, waakye with fried plantains, jollof rice, and banku paired with grilled tilapia and pepper sauce. Each dish is a foundation of Ghanaian cooking, and tasting them in sequence shows you how the country eats.

The whole experience runs four hours, which means you're not rushed through any part of it. A live guide in English walks you through the ceremony and explains the food as you taste it. If you have dietary restrictions or allergies, tell the operator when you book so the menu can shift to meet your needs.
