The experience
The tour opens with a traditional welcome at Kotoka International Airport, then a group dinner in Osu featuring live drumming and local dishes like Jollof rice and grilled tilapia. From there, the week unfolds across four regions. Day two stays in Accra, moving through the National Museum of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and Memorial Park, Independence Square, and Osu Castle on the Atlantic coast: each one a layer of Ghana's political and cultural story. Oxford Street in Osu gives you a feel for the city's modern rhythm.
Day three takes you inland to Kumasi, the heartbeat of Ashanti culture. You'll visit Bonwire Kente Village to watch weavers work thread by thread and try weaving yourself; tour the Manhyia Palace Museum, the former royal residence where you learn about the Golden Stool and Ashanti kingship; and walk through Kejetia Market, one of West Africa's largest open-air markets, where thousands of stalls sell fabrics, beads, spices and crafts. Day four shifts to the Eastern Region: Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Farm, where Ghana's cocoa industry began, plus Asenema Waterfall and Safari Valley for wildlife.
Days five and six turn toward the coast and reflection. Cape Coast Castle and the Slave River at Assin Manso are sites of profound historical weight. You walk the dungeons and the "Door of No Return," then have lunch on the beach to let the Atlantic air settle what you've learned. Ada on day six is a deliberate shift to ease: a cruise on the Volta River where it meets the ocean, fresh tilapia from the lake, swimming and dancing. The final day is for last-minute shopping at Accra Mall and farewells before your airport transfer.

Is this one for you?Seven days is long enough to move through four regions and sit with each one (Accra's history, Kumasi's royal culture, the cocoa farms, and the weight of Cape Coast) without rushing, but it also means the schedule is set and every day has its stops. Book this if you want a guide who knows the stories and the route planned for you. If you need flexibility to linger at one site or skip another, a shorter regional tour or a self-guided trip would suit you better.

Top questions
What's included in the meals across the seven days?
All dinners and meals throughout the tour are included in the price. Day one opens with a traditional welcome dinner in Osu. Subsequent days feature local cuisine at hotels and at stops like the beach lunch in Cape Coast and fresh tilapia in Ada.
Do I need a visa to enter Ghana, and does the tour help with that?
Visa requirements depend on your nationality and are not handled by the tour operator. You should check Ghana's entry requirements for your passport well before your travel dates and arrange any visa independently.
What is the Manhyia Palace Museum, and why is it on the itinerary?
The Manhyia Palace Museum in Kumasi is the former royal residence of Ashanti kings. It holds artifacts, photographs and stories about Ashanti leadership and the Golden Stool, a sacred symbol of Ashanti power and identity, making it central to understanding the region's heritage.
Can I buy Kente cloth directly from the weavers in Bonwire?
Yes. On day three in Kumasi, you visit Bonwire Kente Village, where you can watch the weavers at work and purchase authentic handwoven Kente cloth straight from the source.
What happens on the Ada day? Is swimming and the river cruise optional?
Day six in Ada includes a cruise on the Volta River, a swim in the water, fresh tilapia from the lake, and time to dance and relax. These are part of the day's itinerary, though you can choose your level of participation in any activity.
Is there free time to explore on my own, or is every hour scheduled?
The itinerary is structured with set stops and activities each day. Some moments (like the afternoon in Ada or time at Accra Mall on the final day) allow for personal exploration, but the overall route and major attractions are fixed across the seven days.
