The experience

You meet your guide in front of Hotel Adlon Kempinski on Unter den Linden and start at the Brandenburg Gate itself: the city's most recognizable symbol and a natural photo stop. From there, the walk moves to the Reichstag Parliament Building with its Norman Foster glass dome, then follows the waterside through Spreebogen Park and past Parlament der Bäume, a memorial to those who died at the Berlin Wall. The Deutsches Theater, a World War II bunker and the historic Friedrichstadt-Palast theater mark the route, each one a layer of the city's identity.

On the 4-hour option, the tour extends east to the New Synagogue with its restored 1800s facade and gilded dome, where your guide shares the city's lost Jewish heritage. You walk through the lively Oranienburger Str., explore the colorful street art and courtyards of Haus Schwarzenberg and Hackesche Höfe, then pass the DDR Museum on the way to the Berlin TV Tower, Germany's tallest structure. The tour ends at Alexanderplatz and its iconic World Time Clock, a historical square in what was once East Berlin.

Your guide is a licensed, 5-star rated professional fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, French and other languages, and adjusts the pace and depth of commentary to match your group's interests. The tour is wheelchair accessible, and strollers work for infants and small children. Public transportation is nearby if you need it.
