The experience
Martvili Canyon sits in western Georgia's limestone landscape, where water has carved steep cliffs and an underground river over thousands of years. You'll travel by boat along the canyon walls, watching the river turn into a waterfall at the canyon's mouth, and spot fossils embedded in the rock face. The canyon entrance costs 40 GEL per person. A boat ride through the canyon itself is an optional 30 GEL, and a zipline across the canyon runs 70 GEL if you want it.
Prometheus Cave, the largest in the region, holds stalactites and stalagmites that hang like frozen waterfalls, plus underground lakes that have never seen daylight. You walk through the cavern on foot, then board a boat to travel out along the underground river. Entry is 40 GEL per person, paid when you arrive. The whole day runs 10 to 12 hours from hotel pickup to drop-off in an air-conditioned vehicle with WiFi on board.
