A shared sunset cruise on the Bora Bora lagoon aboard a motorized pirogue with a live guide in English or French, including pickup. You choose from four non-alcoholic or three alcoholic drinks, eat appetizers and local fruits, and receive a flower and oshiburi (a scented hand towel) as the light fades over the water. The cruise runs two hours.
The Experience
You board the Oti'a Are, a motorized pirogue decorated in Polynesian style with the comfort built in to sit steady while the boat moves. The guide, Narii, steers toward the best vantage on the lagoon as the sun lowers. The boat stops where the light hits the water cleanest, and that is when the drinks arrive—you pick from four non-alcoholic options or three with alcohol, each poured into a custom glass. Alongside come appetizers, local fruits, a flower placed in your hand, and an oshiburi to cool your face as the air cools.
Two hours is the full time on the water. The shared format means you are with other travelers, which changes the pace and the cost but not the view or what arrives at your seat. Pickup is included, so the logistics of getting to the boat are handled before you step aboard.
