The experience
Your hotel pickup starts the day, and by mid-morning you're on the catamaran's nets watching the captain hoist the sails and cut the engine. The lagoon opens up around you: Otemanu Mountain rises in the distance, and the water shifts from pale green to deep blue where the reef meets the ocean. Your hostess brings refreshments to a floating bar decorated with flowers and coconuts while the music plays. The boat stops in a bay for swimming, then moves to a snorkeling spot where the marine life is dense enough that you'll see it without hunting for it.
The second half of the day takes you to a motu owned by a Polynesian family. You swim in the shallows, then sit down to a traditional lunch prepared on the islet. The return sail back to your hotel closes the loop: six hours total, with the guide managing the timing and the route so you're not organizing any of it.
