The Experience

Your hotel pickup starts the day, and by mid-morning you're on the catamaran's nets watching the captain hoist the sails and cut the engine. The lagoon opens up around you—Otemanu Mountain rises in the distance, and the water shifts from pale green to deep blue where the reef meets the ocean. Your hostess brings refreshments to a floating bar decorated with flowers and coconuts while the music plays. The boat stops in a bay for swimming, then moves to a snorkeling spot where the marine life is dense enough that you'll see it without hunting for it.

The second half of the day takes you to a motu owned by a Polynesian family. You swim in the shallows, then sit down to a traditional lunch prepared on the islet. The return sail back to your hotel closes the loop—six hours total, with the guide managing the timing and the route so you're not organizing any of it.
