The experience
You start from Avignon and travel by minivan to Nîmes, where the Arena of Nîmes opens the day. This amphitheater still hosts bullfights and concerts, so you see it as a working venue, not a ruin behind a rope. A photo stop at the Maison Carrée (one of the best-preserved Roman temples anywhere) lets you frame the classical façade before the guide walks you through Nîmes city center to point out other Roman traces woven into the modern streets.
The route then heads to the Pont du Gard, the UNESCO-listed Roman aqueduct that spans the Gardon river. You visit the bridge itself. The museum ticket is separate if you want it. From there, the minivan carries you to Orange and the Roman Antic Theatre, where the guide explains how the stage wall and seating still stand largely intact. The day runs 8.5 hours total, and the small group size, capped at eight, means the guide can answer questions and adjust stops to match the group's pace.
The minivan is air-conditioned, which matters in Provence heat. All four entrance fees are included, along with the guide and transport. Note that the Arena in Nîmes may close for concerts or events. If it does, you get a photo stop instead. The Orange Theatre can also close for summer events. Children are welcome from age four.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and French.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 11 years). Under 4: they can't be included in the booking.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24h before the start.
What is the Arena of Nîmes used for today?
The Arena of Nîmes still hosts bullfights and concerts, so you see it as an active venue rather than a historical relic. The guide explains its layout and history during your visit.
Is the Pont du Gard museum included in the tour?
The Pont du Gard aqueduct itself is included, and you visit the bridge. The museum ticket is not included but can be purchased separately if you want to go inside.
How many people travel together on this tour?
Groups are limited to eight passengers maximum, so you travel in a small minivan with personal attention from the guide rather than on a large coach.
What happens if the Arena in Nîmes is closed when we arrive?
If the Arena is closed for a concert or event, the tour replaces the interior visit with a photo stop around the exterior of the amphitheater, and the rest of the itinerary continues as planned.
