The experience

Your guide meets you at your cruise ship, hotel, or residence and drives you to Aix-en-Provence first. There you walk the historic center with its 17th-century palaces, explore the lively daily market, and visit Saint-Sauveur Cathedral. The guide handles the route and the history. You move at the group's pace through the town's squares and streets.

From Aix you head to Cassis, a fishing village on the coast. The real draw here is Cape Canaille, the highest cliff overlooking Calanques National Park and the port below: a spot built for photographs and the kind of view that justifies the drive. A boat tour through the calanques themselves is available but costs extra and is not part of the booking.

The tour ends in Marseille at the Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde, perched high enough to give you a full 360-degree sweep of the city.
