Four hilltop villages in one day, ending at Gordes

A private day tour of Luberon Regional Park visits four Provençal villages (Lourmarin, Bonnieux, Roussillon, and Gordes) with a driver-guide in an air-conditioned van for up to eight passengers. You stroll through each village, stop at a viewpoint over the Luberon valley, taste wine at Citadelle estate, and photograph lavender fields when in bloom (mid-June through July). The experience

The route starts with a 45-minute drive to Lourmarin, where you walk the narrow streets and see its Renaissance castle. From there the van climbs to Bonnieux for a viewpoint across the entire Luberon valley. If you're traveling between mid-June and late July, you'll stop in the lavender fields for photos. The same window opens the option to taste wines at La Citadelle winery in Ménerbes. Roussillon comes next (the village known locally as Colorado Provençal for its red and orange earth and houses), where you can walk the Ocres trail if you want, or simply explore the restaurants and shops.

Gordes, labeled the most beautiful village in France, is the final stop. You get a photo moment at the Belvedere before the van returns. The guide speaks English or French and drives a Mercedes-Benz van with air conditioning. Bottled water is provided throughout the day. Depending on the day of the week, you may pass through a Provençal market (Friday in Lourmarin, Thursday in Roussillon), though the itinerary centers on the villages themselves.
