The experience
If you have a free afternoon in Provence and want to see three places without renting a car, this tour threads them together in a single loop. You start in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue with a guided walk through the town's canals and galleries: the Sorgue River still feeds the channels that once powered silk factories and paper mills, and a few water wheels still turn. The town is known for its antique dealers, especially on weekends, so you'll move through streets lined with shops and art galleries. After the guided portion, you have free time to wander on your own.
From there, the driver takes you to Gordes, a village built into the rock face of a hillside with cobblestone streets winding between tall stone houses. You stop for a panoramic view and a walking tour of the narrow streets. The route then heads to Ménerbes and a wine domain established on 40 hectares of vineyard, where the owners practice organic farming and use horse plowing and eco-grazing to work the land. You taste three wines (a commented tasting that runs about an hour), then return to your starting point as the afternoon ends.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish and French.
What can I see during the walking tour in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue?
L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue's canals, water wheels, antique galleries and art shops. The town's heritage dates to the 14th century when it was important within the Comtat Venaissin. The canals fed silk factories in the 18th century and paper mills in the 19th. Some wheels still turn today. After the guided walk, you have free time to explore the antique markets and galleries on your own.
How does the wine tasting work at the Ménerbes estate?
The tasting is a commented session of three wines lasting about an hour. The estate has been certified organic since 2016 and practices high-environmental-value farming with horse plowing and beehives. The vineyard ranges from 15 to 75 years old, mostly on the north slope of the Luberon. You must be 21 or older to participate in the tasting.
Who drives the tour, and what vehicle do I travel in?
A knowledgeable English-speaking driver operates the tour in an air-conditioned Mercedes. The driver handles all routing between L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Gordes and Ménerbes, and returns you to your starting point at the end of the day.
