The Experience

I thought I knew the Beatles, but standing outside Paul McCartney’s London office, it hit different. Our guide Richard — who literally wrote the book on this stuff — had this way of making each stop feel alive. He pointed at a nondescript doorway and said, “That’s where Beatlemania really exploded.” Someone in our group hummed a tune under their breath, and for a second it felt like we were all part of some old black-and-white newsreel. The city noise just faded out for a moment.

The walk itself wasn’t too tough (bring comfy shoes though — London pavement is no joke). We lined up awkwardly and tried to recreate the album cover; my attempt was more “confused tourist” than “rock legend.” Richard laughed and told us about fans who’d come from as far as Brazil just for this spot.
